A little sassy, a little sweet, and a whole lot of flavor! The Sassy Ginger is my new springtime patio cocktail favorite - and will quickly become yours, too!

The Sassy Ginger is one tasty cocktail, perfect for Spring and Summer!

This cocktail is a brand-new creation I came up with using a liqueur that's a staple on my bar cart, Domaine de Canton. I wanted a cocktail with depth while still being refreshing and bright, perfect to enjoy on our patio (especially with the unseasonably warm weather we're experiencing!).

I started with the strawberry syrup I'd made for my margarita series YouTube videos, and then layered in ingredients to balance out the strawberry sweetness. I brought gin into the picture, and that, combined with the ginger and berry notes, resulted in my new patio favorite, the Sassy Ginger!

Meet the new Spring cocktail of your dreams, the Sassy Ginger.

Domaine de Canton, made in France, has that ginger-spice flavor to enhance almost any cocktail, and complements most liquors as well. It can also be added to bellinis, margaritas and mules. But right now, it's the star in my newest cocktail.

Mix it up for friends and guests to enjoy the warm weather and celebrate Spring!

The Sassy Ginger

Ingredients (makes 1 cocktail)

  • 1 1/2 oz gin

  • 3/4 oz Domaine de Canton

  • 3/4 oz strawberry syrup (find the syrup recipe here)

  • 1/2 fresh lime juice

  • 2 oz club soda

  • Mint, basil or sage to garnish

  • Lime wedge to garnish (optional)

  • Strawberries to garnish (optional)

Mix it Up

  1. Fill a shaker with ice. Add the gin, Domaine de Canton, strawberry syrup and lime to the shaker. Shake well at least 30 seconds so it's well-chilled.

  2. Fill a cocktail glass with ice. Pour the contents of the shaker into the glass.

  3. Add the club soda and gently stir.

  4. Garnish with your favorite herbs and lime wedge or strawberry.

Raise your glass and toast to the warmer days ahead!
