Every Halloween party needs a spooky, tasty cocktail to delight friends and guests and elevate the vibe. I love this Mummy-tini because it's not only Insta-worthy (everyone will be taking pics!), but it also has this creamy, chocolate-y, coconut-y profile everyone will adore.

A cocktail that also serves as its own 'mini' Halloween decoration? That's how you celebrate spooky season!

When it comes to 'pulling' the marshmallow over the top of the martini glass, you may want to practice beforehand. It's not difficult, but you'll want to get a feel for how long to keep the marshmallows in the microwave, and how quickly you'll need to prep the glass. Once you've got the touch, it's boo-time!

The Mummy-tini

Ingredients (makes 1 cocktail)

  • 1 oz white creme de cocoa

  • 1 oz vanilla or whipped cream vodka

  • 1 oz half-and-half

  • 1 oz cream of coconut (not coconut cream - there is a difference!)

  • 1/2 - 1 cup mini-marshmallows

  • Garnish - edible eyes, cocoa powder

Mix it Up

Prep your martini glass

  1. Place the mini-marshmallows in a small glass bowl. Place in the microwave for 15 - 20 seconds. Immediately remove.

  2. Stir the marshmallows until their thick, and are pliable (you can pull it apart and it creates thick strands).

  3. Using 2 forks, scoop up some of the marshmallow and pull it between the forks - as it creates those long strands, layer over the martini glass. Keep pulling the marshmallow between the forks and continue to layer over the glass until you have many strands across 1/3 to 1/2 of the top of the martini glass. Scoop up more of the marshmallow as needed along the way.

  4. When you have the marshmallow mummy 'bandages' on the glass, add the 2 eyes near the rim of the glass. Set aside.

Prepare the drink

  1. Add ice to a cocktail shaker. Add the creme de cocoa, vodka, half-and-half and cream of coconut. (You may need a spoon or spatula to remove all the cream from your measuring cup or shot glass).

  2. Shake vigorously to chill well.

  3. Pour the cocktail into the prepared glass, on the side away from your marshmallow.

  4. To give your mummy-tini a 'weathered' look, lightly sprinkle cocoa powder over the marshmallow.

Raise your glass and celebrate your mummy!

Option two: Spider-tini

Prepare the glass as described above. When the marshmallow 'web' is on the glass, dip the rim in grey or black sprinkles. Add a plastic spider to the side. Then mix up the drink and add to the martini glass.
